Successful Completion of the Green Hydrogen Training in Aktau

Datum: 01.September 2024
The Green Hydrogen Training in Aktau successfully concluded, equipping university educators from Central Asia with essential knowledge on Renewable Power-to-X (PtX) technologies. This initiative strengthens Kazakhstan’s position as a regional leader in renewable energy and supports global climate commitments.
The Hydrogen Diplomacy Office Astana, in collaboration with the International PtX Hub, successfully conducted a 4-day training on Renewable Power-to-X (PtX) technologies at Sh. Yessenov Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering (Yessenov University) in Aktau. This training brought together university educators from Almaty, Tashkent, Ashgabat, Atyrau, and Aktau, fostering regional expertise in green hydrogen. Led by Dr. Sebastian Timmerberg from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), the training aimed to provide university educators with a comprehensive understanding of renewable PtX technologies. This initiative is particularly crucial for Kazakhstan’s energy transition, supporting efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet global climate commitments. By deepening knowledge in PtX, the program is helping to shape a new generation of professionals ready to drive sustainable innovation in the energy sector.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to facilitate the integration of PtX concepts into university curricula. These discussions ensured that students will be better equipped to tackle emerging energy challenges and contribute to the region’s transition toward renewable energy solutions.

This initiative strengthens Kazakhstan’s role as a regional leader in renewable energy, creating economic opportunities and raising educational standards in the field. The program is a key step towards developing a strong foundation for green hydrogen technologies in Central Asia.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Yessenov University for their invaluable support in making this event a success. Moving forward, we look forward to further initiatives that contribute to a sustainable energy future.
