Future Forum Green Hydrogen – Adding a geopolitical perspective to the global green hydrogen market ramp-up

The Future Forum Green Hydrogen (FFGH) is a series of events designed to incorporate foreign policy issues and geopolitical aspects into international discussions about green hydrogen. It addresses decision makers from politics and the private sector as well as think tanks and scientists. FFGH promotes the dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of an international hydrogen market and bridges the perspectives of fossil fuel exporting nations, transit countries, countries with advanced hydrogen production planning and potential buyer countries. With the events under the umbrella of FFGH, H2-diplo supports the exchange on a coherent global governance and trade regime and a just transition supported by green hydrogen.
On 1 July 2025, H2-diplo hosted the third edition of the Future Forum Green Hydrogen in Berlin. Around 150 policymakers, researchers, and private sector representatives gathered to discuss how green hydrogen can drive industrial competitiveness, energy security and decarbonization.
On May 29, 2024, H2-diplo hosted the second conference in the “Future Forum Green Hydrogen” series at the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, gathering more than 120 experts, diplomats, policymakers and stakeholders from the energy sector.
Under the umbrella of the event series “Future Forum Green Hydrogen”, H2-diplo hosted a webinar titled on the role of hydrogen for the energy transformation of fossil fuel exporters.
COP28 is over and H2-diplo was part of it with the side event “Fertilizing the Future: Using Green Hydrogen Value Chains to Address the Climate-Food-Security Nexus”.
The “Future Forum Green Hydrogen” event by H2-diplo, held in San José, seeks to initiate critical discussions on the role of green hydrogen in addressing the challenges faced by hard-to-abate sectors in Colombia.
