Kazakhstan, with its vast potential for renewable energies, has adopted a strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. Green hydrogen and its derivates are meant to help achieve this goal. The H2-diplo office in Astana supports the development of green hydrogen’s role in Kazakhstan, complementing the hydrogen activities taking place within the German-Kazakh energy dialogue conducted by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action.

From March 18th to 20th March 2024, the 10th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) took place and the H2-diplo Office Astana organized a working trip to Berlin, Germany for partners from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The H2-diplo office in Astana has organized a first study trip for a Kazakh delegation that aimed to enhance the knowledge and collaboration between Kazakhstan and Germany in the field of green hydrogen technologies and policies.
